Governance

The Kangaroo Industries Association of Australia (KIAA) is the peak representative body for the kangaroo industry. Its principal membership base is the kangaroo meat and hide processing sector. KIAA members represent over 90% of industry throughput.

Formed in July 1970, the KIAA has a long track record of assisting the development of the kangaroo industry into an international model of wise and sustainable resource use producing world class meat and leather products.

The KIAA is the voice of the industry to governments at all levels both within Australia and overseas. It is also the first point of contact for information on the industry from the general public and media. KIAA advocates for sustainable, ethical harvesting of kangaroos and works with industry and Government to ensure appropriate policy and regulatory frameworks are in place.

The KIAA has a range of membership options.
